Alex Weston is a composer and pianist living in Brooklyn. He has had works commissioned by the Lyrica Chamber Music Ensemble, the Utah Wind Symphony, the Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic, MADArt Creative, Ballet in the City, and other organizations. Alex’s compositions have received awards from ASCAP, the New Jersey Arts Collective, and the English National Opera. Also involved with film and TV scoring, Alex has had films premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, the Berlinale, and others. He has also provided music for “The Affair” on Showtime and “The Emperor of All Maladies”, a recent Ken Burns documentary, on PBS. Alex currently works as music assistant to Philip Glass.
